    Education:

    Dr. Urbanik earned her BA in Biology from Lake Forest College, Lake Forest IL and earned her DVM from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine.

    Experience:

    During veterinary school, Dr. Urbanik was actively involved in the University of Illinois’ Wildlife Medical Clinic and was fortunate enough to be a student manager of the Wildlife Medical Clinic during her 3rd year of vet school where her duties included providing oversight of the clinic and providing medical care to ill and injured wildlife.

    On what she enjoys most about working at WVRC…“My pets have always provided me with undying companionship and love, so I understand the importance of the human animal bond. As an emergency veterinarian, I am honored to strengthen this bond by providing clients and their pets a high level of medical care in what is often a stressful time.”

    Affiliations:

    AVMA, VECCS and Fear Free Certified. Dr. Urbanik also has plans to become a member of the association of avian veterinarians (AAV) and the association of exotic mammal veterinarians (AEMV).

    Professional Interests:

    Dr. Urbanik’s professional interests include emergency medicine and critical care, surgery, internal medicine, exotic companion animals and wildlife.
