Parvovirus Infection

Champ and Mogwai are Catahoula Leopard Dog mixes and littermates who came to WVRC as puppies with parvovirus infections.

Parvo affects the intestinal tract and causes vomiting, diarrhea, fever, dehydration, and decreased ability to fight infection. It’s highly-contagious and especially severe in puppies – and often does not have a positive outcome. After multiple days in hospital with extensive treatment and supportive care, including IV fluids and antibiotics, the duo were finally well enough to go home. And they touched all of our hearts while they were here.

Mogwai and Champ turned one in October, and their owners held a big birthday party to celebrate their success and hard-fought battle against parvo!
