Impaled by Stick

Poor Charlee came to visit us this weekend after she was impaled by a stick while out in the woods. Fortunately, there wasn’t any vascular or nerve damage. She was lightly sedated, the stick was easily removed, and the wound was thoroughly flushed. By warm packing the two wound sites at home, it will help to allow for any infectious fluids to leave the wound and minimize the change of infection. She also went home with pain meds and antibiotics. We’re so thankful it wasn’t worse!
