Incision Complications

Creature, an adorable 12-year-old Boston Terrier, came to WVRC’s Emergency service due to incision complications after having anal gland abscess surgery elsewhere.

During the exam, Dr. Hayes found that there was a small defect in the incision, which was causing issues upon defecation. Due to the delicate nature of the surgery needed to reclose the incision, Dr. Reed, one of our Board Certified surgeons, was brought in to perform the surgery. After a few days of recuperation, Creature was feeling well and had no further complications.

It was nice to receive this picture of Creature looking so happy and carefree now that he is feeling better.
