Soft Tissue Sarcoma
Gary came to the WVRC oncology service for a soft tissue sarcoma that had been slowly growing over his right shoulder. However, recently it started growing much more rapidly, to the point where Gary was no longer using his leg. As his owner put it, he was only using his leg as a ‘kick stand.’ Our surgery service performed an amputation of his right front leg and has recovered extremely well, in fact is back to doing all his normal cat things at home – he can even still jump! – and Dr. Wirth started him on chemotherapy treatments to help him get to remission.
