Corneal Laceration

This gorgeous girl is Peta!  She is a 9-year-old mixed breed dog that had a full thickness corneal laceration due to a cat scratch.  Surgical repair was required to give the best chance of maintaining vision and a healthy eye long term.  Peta was lucky in that her lens was not traumatized by the cat claw.  The corneal laceration was closed with very small sutures under an operating microscope by Dr. Peter Accola.  Peta did great in the post operative period and remains visual and comfortable.  She is a great little girl and we are happy she has done so well!
