Winnie’s owner brought her to WVRC’s Oncology service to discuss diagnostic and treatment options, after multiple swollen areas on Winnie’s body were aspirated elsewhere and showed that Winnie had Stage 5 large cell lymphoma. Dr. Goodman, one of WVRC’s oncologists, thoroughly examined Winnie and found that she also had Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever, which needed to be addressed before any cancer treatment could be started. Once that was in check, Winnie was started on a multi agent chemotherapy protocol.
Winnie has now completed her treatments and has kicked cancer’s tail! She is living her best life on her farm. Way to go Winnie!!
