Dermatology & Allergy Relief for Wisconsin’s Pets
Expertise and Specialized Training in the Diagnosis and Treatment of a Wide Variety of Skin Diseases Affecting Dogs and Cats
Skin disorders are common but frustrating problems in pets. Without effective treatment, these disorders can develop into serious health issues. Here at WVRC, we strive to find the root of the problem and focus on sustainable long-term management. Our expert dermatological team has experience in diagnosing and managing a broad range of dermatological diseases, such as:
- Allergic dermatitis
- Autoimmune skin diseases
- Bacterial, fungal, viral, and parasitic skin infections
- Conditions of the ear canal
- Endocrine disorders
During your visit, our dermatology specialist, Dr. Mazulis, will perform a detailed history, physical examination, and medical diagnostics in order to diagnose and treat your pet’s skin ailments.
Common diagnostics performed include skin scrapings, Wood’s lamp examination, hair (fungal) cultures, impression cytology, skin cultures, and skin biopsies. More complex ear cases may benefit from advanced imaging (head CT scan), deep ear flushing, and sampling of the middle ear. Intradermal skin allergy testing and hyposensitization treatments may be recommended for patients with environmental allergies.
